The Kansas City Chiefs are “all BFFs” — and have the bracelets to show for it!
Before their game against the New York Jets, the Chiefs posted a video on TikTok of players exchanging friendship bracelets, hilariously referencing a comment once made by star tight end Travis Kelce about his desire to give one to Taylor Swift.
“This is something my little sister would give me,” defensive tackle Chris Jones joked, while other players such as cornerback L’Jarius Sneed and wide receiver Rashee Rice accepted the accessory with open arms.
When Kelce, 33, was presented with one that said “Killa Trav,” he smiled and only allowed: “I know what these are all about.”
A caption underneath the video summed up the feel-good locker room exchange: “We’re all BFFs over here.”
For the reigning Super Bowl champs, camaraderie is an important intangible, even more so in light of their unexpectedly close win against the Jets on Sunday.
For Kelce, his rumored relationship with Swift, 33, is continuing to spark headlines — and ratings — and it all started with his desire to give the pop superstar a bracelet.
In an episode of his and brother Jason Kelce’s podcast in July, Travis joked about how he tried to give Swift his phone number before a stop on her Eras Tour concert earlier this summer. However, Travis revealed that he wasn’t able to speak with her because he was told she was saving her voice for the show.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” Travis said at the time. “She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal.”
It worked out in the end, though — Travis was able to invite Swift to watch him play, and the two are “getting to know each other,” a source tells PEOPLE.
