Prince William and Kate Middleton’s unusual decision to raise George, Charlotte and Louis on their own
The royal couple do not want any extra help raising their trio of children
Prince William and Kate Middleton prefer to raise their three children on their own terms without the aid of extra hands beyond managing their busy daytime schedules as Prince George, Louis and Charlotte are forced to get stuck in.
King Charles III and Princess Diana had four chefs, a butler, five managers and four assistants and many more staff at hand to help them raise William and Prince HarryIt also allows the Princess of Wales to remain in touch with the working class coal miner roots from her mother’s side, who also worked as a British Airways flight attendant whilst her father served as a dispatcher.
“I think it would surprise people to see how ordinary things are at home,” a source told DailyMail.com. “The children help with laying the table, clearing their plates when they’ve finished eating and helping with tidying up.
“There’s no preferential treatment.”
When did this isolationism start?
The family had previously had a nanny that lived with them but elected to part ways in 2022 when they swapped Kensington Palace for the Windsor estate, the residence of the late Queen Elizabeth II.Since then, they have been determined to make it on their own as a ‘normal’ British family and even during Middleton’s battle against cancer, she refused extra help for her and her children. The aim was to keep the household as normal as possible for the kids, and if she needed to lean on anyone for help she chose her parents and sister – all familiar faces for the two Princes and the Princess.
Catherine is very, very natural. She keeps the family down to earth,” the source added of the dynamics of the family at their Adelaide Cottage. “Home is a safe haven.
“In a bid to keep things functioning as smoothly as possible she has been keen for everything to carry on as normal for the children. The children are still expected do their chores and to muck in at home.”
