Chris Hemsworth’s wife Elsa Pataky has opened up about the difficulties of marriage as she said her husband has helped her to be more patient.

The Spanish model, 45, has been married to the Australian actor, 38, for 12 years but admitted it isn’t always easy as she spoke of the importance of not being ‘selfish’.

She explained that she and Chris have learnt from each other throughout their marriage and said they always try to devote time to their relationship.

She told Hello Magazine: ‘It’s not at all easy. No relationship is always a bed of roses and all marriages are built bit by bit, out of good moments, wonderful moments and also more difficult ones.’

Elsa went on to say that the Thor actor and their three children – India, ten, and twins Tristan and Sasha, eight – have all helped her to become more ‘patient’.

My children have taught me patience – before they came along I had none,’ she added.

Although her children have taught her to be more tolerant, she admitted that she does sometimes feel ‘overwhelmed’ as a mother-of-three.

The actress also gushed over her husband and said he always helps her with their children, saying she admires him for being a ‘brilliant father’.

Elsa, who lives with her family in Australia, recently spent more than two months travelling around Europe with her three children while Chris shot in Prague for four months.

She admitted that although it was a trip of a lifetime, she isn’t sure if she would do it again as she spoke of the trials of travelling with children.

The Fast and Furious star has been busy promoting her new action film Interceptor, which will be released on June 3.

She plays a soldier who must save the world when 16 nuclear missiles are launched at the United States.

The film also stars Kathy Morgan, Christopher Mapp, Robert Slaviero and ex-Home and Away star Luke Bracey.

Her husband Chris is producing the action film alongside Kathy Morgan, Christopher Mapp, Robert Slaviero and Peter D. Graves.

He was just telling me, like, “This is the right angle when you punch”. He was just showing me how to do it, what is the right position you have to have,’ she went on.

‘He has been doing it for a long time. It was great having him. He was supporting me from the beginning, from when he first read the script.

‘He said, “You have to do this, it’s going to be fun, you will enjoy it, I know how much you like this kind of movie”.’

Elsa was then asked by the show’s hosts how the pair dealt with professional disagreements on set.

‘It’s like your marriage, in a way, you work things out. It’s different when he’s an executive producer, he gives you advice, he supports you. It’s easier than when we are married every day,’ she said.
