Girl, 11, fighting for life as common case of the flu spirals into severe illness
An 11-year-old girl has been left fighting for her life after a routine case of influenza suddenly spiraled into a severe respiratory illness.
Olivia Lenhart, a fifth grader at Dilworth Elementary School in Dilworth, Minnesota, is now in intensive care, hooked up to machines to help her breathe after a case of the flu escalated into pneumonia, with her condition deteriorating further.
