After her courageous battle with cancer, Martina Navratilova and her wife, Julia Lemigova, joyfully welcome two children into their family.
Former world number one ranked women’s tennis player Martina Navratilova has adopted two sons with her wife Julia Lemigova.
The couple are delighted with the news, after 67-year-old Navratilova looks to have put difficult times behind her, having previously been diagnosed with breast cancer and then later throat cancer.
The tennis superstar, along with partner Lemigova, 52, are now said to be enthralled about their new chapter as a couple.
“We are over the moon, recognizing the challenges and the rewards for everybody,” said Navratilova.
Martina Navratilova admitted in an interview with Piers Morgan in 2023 that adoption was unlikely during her cancer treatment, and Lemigova also had stated in December of last year that welcoming children into their family “were on hold” amid her wife’s health issues.
The couple featured on the hit Bravo TV show ‘Real Housewives of Miami’ where, in Season 5, where Lemigova had spoken about their attempts to have children.

“Martina and I are going to do our best to try to – oh my god, I’m having chills. We’re going to adopt a baby,” Lemigova said in one episode. “If tomorrow they called me to say there was a little boy who needs a home, I mean, I would just collapse on the floor and die.”
“When you’re adopting a child, it has to be about the child. And, right now, it’s everything about Martina, and for her getting healthy. So, we’re putting it on hold,” she added.
