Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes, are co-owners of the Kansas City Current — a professional soccer club that currently plays in the National Women’s Soccer League. The Chiefs QB joined the ownership group in 2022, following his wife who was a co-founder of the franchise.
Sure enough, the couple has been really supportive of the club, attending games and cheering for the team whenever they can. The Mahomes family was in attendance when the Current kicked off their season in March, and just last month, they brought members of the Chiefs to watch a game.
On Thursday, Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes hyped up the Current once again. After the soccer team announced its “groundbreaking of Riverside Stadium, a new Performance Center and pitch expansion,” the Chiefs QB and his wife shared the news on their Instagram Stories.
While Brittany Mahomes didn’t put any caption on her post, it’s clear she’s proud of what the Current are doing. The entrepreneur and mother of three also liked the post from the team.

According to the Current’s press release, the planned Riverside Stadium will feature 2,000 seats, as well as a FIFA certified “heated grass pitch and fan amenities.”
The team also described their upcoming Performance Center as a “state-of-the-art facility focused on player development, agility, and strength.” Meanwhile, the pitch expansion involves the “construction of four new grass youth soccer pitches.”
With these new projects, the Current’s total investment in player facilities in Riverside, Missouri has increased to $52 million.
